Terms and Conditions

This page publishes the current customer app terms for Knoqq accounts, bookings, payments, cancellations, safety, and support.

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Knoqq customer mobile application, customer-facing website pages, booking flows, payment flows, support channels, and related customer services (together, the “Services”).

These Terms are written for the Knoqq customer app. They do not govern any separate professional, partner, or contractor app.

By creating an account, verifying your phone number, booking a service, making a payment, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy and any booking, cancellation, refund, safety, offer, or support policy shown in the App from time to time.


1. About Knoqq

Knoqq (“Knoqq”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates a home-services platform that helps customers book household help from service professionals.

Knoqq provides the technology platform, booking experience, payment facilitation, customer support, safety tooling, and operational coordination. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the home services are performed by independent service professionals and not by Knoqq employees.

We may add, remove, pause, or change Services, service areas, booking types, pricing, time slots, features, or platform policies as the product evolves.


2. Eligibility

You may use the Services only if:

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You can enter into a legally binding agreement under applicable law.
  • You use the Services for personal, lawful, non-commercial purposes unless we have separately agreed otherwise in writing.
  • Your requested service location is within a service area supported by Knoqq.
  • The information you provide to Knoqq is accurate, current, and complete.

We may refuse, suspend, or restrict access to the Services if we believe these requirements are not met, if there are safety concerns, if there is suspected fraud or misuse, or if required by law.


3. Account and OTP Login

You may need to create an account using your mobile number and OTP verification. You are responsible for keeping your device, phone number, OTPs, and account access secure.

You agree that:

  • You will not share OTPs with anyone.
  • You will not create accounts using false, misleading, unauthorized, or third-party information.
  • You are responsible for activity that happens through your account unless the activity resulted from Knoqq’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.
  • You will promptly update your profile if your name, phone number, email, address, receiver details, or emergency contact details change.

We may contact you by call, SMS, WhatsApp, email, push notification, or in-app message for OTPs, booking updates, payment updates, safety alerts, support, policy updates, service feedback, and legally required notices. Marketing communications, if any, will be handled in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy.


4. Customer Profile, Addresses, and Contacts

To use booking features, you may need to provide your name, phone number, address, receiver details, location pin, special instructions, and emergency contact details.

You are responsible for ensuring that:

  • The service address and location pin are accurate.
  • The receiver is authorized to allow the professional into the service location.
  • Phone numbers and emergency contact information are provided with the relevant person’s knowledge and permission.
  • Building entry instructions, gate permissions, parking or access information, and safety-related details are shared before the booking where relevant.

Knoqq is not responsible for delays, failed bookings, access issues, or additional costs caused by incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information provided by you.


5. Bookings and Service Delivery

Knoqq currently supports customer bookings through booking modes shown in the App, such as instant bookings and scheduled bookings, subject to professional availability and service-area coverage.

Bookings are based on the duration selected by you. Task lists, cleaning preferences, instructions, or “how long does it take” information shown in the App are guidance for planning and service delivery. Pricing is based on booked duration and applicable fees, not on each individual task.

You understand that:

  • Availability shown in the App depends on location, date, time slot, professional coverage, demand, and operational constraints.
  • A booking is confirmed only when the App shows confirmation and, where required, payment has been completed.
  • We may assign, reassign, or substitute professionals based on availability, safety, operational, or quality considerations.
  • If a professional becomes unavailable, we may attempt to find a replacement, reschedule, cancel, or refund the booking as applicable.
  • The professional will work within the booked duration. Completion of every requested task is not guaranteed if the requested work exceeds the booked time or if site conditions make completion difficult.
  • Start time, arrival time, and completion estimates are operational estimates and may vary due to traffic, access delays, weather, safety concerns, or other on-ground conditions.

You must provide safe and reasonable access to the service location. If the professional cannot enter, cannot contact you or the receiver, or reasonably determines that the location is unsafe or unsuitable, the booking may be delayed, cancelled, rescheduled, or treated as a customer no-show.


6. Pricing, Taxes, and Payments

Prices are shown in Indian Rupees before you confirm a booking. The final amount may include duration-based service charges, convenience or platform fees, taxes, surge or peak-demand charges, discounts, credits, cancellation fees, no-show fees, refund adjustments, or other charges disclosed in the App.

You agree that:

  • You will pay the amount shown in the App for confirmed bookings.
  • Unless explicitly shown as available in the App, cash payment is not accepted.
  • Payments are processed through Razorpay or another payment provider shown in the App.
  • Knoqq does not store your card CVV, UPI PIN, or full payment credentials.
  • Payment processing, failed payment reversals, chargebacks, and bank settlement timelines may be subject to the payment provider’s rules and the policies of your bank, card issuer, UPI app, or wallet provider.
  • Prices, discounts, taxes, fees, and service availability may change over time, but changes will not affect a booking that has already been confirmed unless a change is required due to a correction, fraud, legal requirement, or an additional service request accepted by you.

Do not make direct off-platform payments to professionals for Services booked through Knoqq. Knoqq is not responsible for disputes, losses, refunds, safety issues, or service issues arising from off-platform payments or arrangements.


7. Cancellations, No-Shows, Refunds, and Rework

Cancellation, no-show, refund, credit, and rework outcomes depend on booking status, professional assignment, arrival status, payment status, support review, and any policy shown in the App at the time.

General rules:

  • You may cancel a booking through the App where cancellation is available. A cancellation fee may apply if the professional has already been assigned, is travelling, has arrived, or if the cancellation is late.
  • If the professional arrives or attempts to arrive and you or the receiver are unreachable after the applicable wait period, the booking may be treated as a customer no-show. A no-show fee or partial charge may apply.
  • If a professional cancels, is unavailable, or does not show up, we may attempt to assign a replacement, reschedule, issue a refund, or provide another remedy based on availability and support review.
  • Refunds, if approved, are generally sent to the original payment method or another method permitted by the payment provider and applicable law.
  • Bank, UPI, card, or payment-provider settlement timelines are outside Knoqq’s direct control.
  • Service quality concerns should be reported as soon as possible through the App or by emailing us. We may request photos, details, timestamps, or other information to review the issue.
  • Depending on the issue and timing of the report, we may offer a re-service, partial refund, full refund, credit, or no remedy, at our reasonable discretion and subject to applicable law.

We may restrict refunds, credits, promotions, or access to Services if we identify repeated bad-faith complaints, false claims, abusive cancellation patterns, payment abuse, fraud, or misuse of the platform.


8. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Treat professionals, support staff, and Knoqq personnel with courtesy and respect.
  • Provide a safe, hygienic, lawful, and appropriate environment for service delivery.
  • Ensure an authorized adult is available at the service location when required.
  • Secure valuables, fragile items, cash, jewelry, sensitive documents, and personal belongings before the service starts.
  • Inform us and the professional about pets, restricted areas, fragile surfaces, access limitations, broken fixtures, hazards, allergies, health risks, or other conditions that may affect service delivery.
  • Provide reasonable access to utilities, water, electricity, elevators, parking, equipment, or supplies where required for the requested service.
  • Avoid asking professionals to perform illegal, unsafe, hazardous, degrading, discriminatory, or out-of-scope work.
  • Use the App and Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

Professionals may refuse or stop service if they reasonably believe the location, request, customer conduct, or surrounding circumstances are unsafe, unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, or outside the scope of the booking.


9. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

  • Harass, threaten, abuse, discriminate against, intimidate, exploit, or harm a professional, customer, support agent, or any other person.
  • Misuse the SOS, safety, support, refund, coupon, referral, payment, or cancellation features.
  • Make false bookings, fake complaints, false damage claims, fraudulent payment claims, or misleading reports.
  • Bypass Knoqq to privately solicit, hire, pay, or engage a professional introduced through Knoqq for services that should be booked through the platform.
  • Share another person’s personal data without permission.
  • Record, photograph, or publish another person where doing so violates law, privacy, safety, or platform policy.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, copy, tamper with, overload, or interfere with the App, backend systems, APIs, security features, or platform data.
  • Upload or transmit malware, spam, unlawful content, defamatory content, or content that infringes another person’s rights.
  • Use the Services in a way that violates applicable law or these Terms.

Violation of this section may result in cancellation, suspension, termination, refusal of refunds, reporting to authorities, or other appropriate action.


10. Safety and SOS Features

Knoqq may provide safety features such as emergency contacts, SOS buttons, operational alerts, support escalation, incident review, or safety-related notifications.

If an SOS or emergency feature is available, you must use it only for genuine safety concerns or emergencies. Misuse may lead to account restrictions and other appropriate action.

Knoqq is not an emergency response service. In a medical, police, fire, or immediate safety emergency, you should contact local emergency services first, including India’s emergency number 112 where applicable.

When a safety feature is used, we may contact you, your emergency contact, the assigned professional, internal operations personnel, or relevant authorities where appropriate. Related data may be retained for safety, legal, compliance, and dispute-resolution purposes.


11. Reviews, Feedback, and User Content

You may submit reviews, ratings, support messages, instructions, photos, feedback, or other content through the Services (“User Content”).

You are responsible for your User Content. You must ensure it is accurate, lawful, not misleading, not defamatory, not abusive, and does not violate another person’s privacy, intellectual property, or other rights.

By submitting User Content, you grant Knoqq a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, use, store, reproduce, display, process, modify for formatting, analyze, and share that content as needed to operate, improve, promote, support, moderate, enforce, and protect the Services.

We may remove, restrict, or moderate User Content if we believe it violates these Terms, law, safety standards, or platform policies.


12. Third-Party Services

The Services may rely on third-party services including payment processors, banks, UPI apps, app stores, map and location providers, analytics providers, crash-reporting providers, notification providers, SMS/OTP providers, hosting providers, and customer support tools.

Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms, privacy policies, fees, limitations, and availability. Knoqq is not responsible for the acts, omissions, outages, settlement timelines, policies, or errors of third-party providers, except where required by law.

Payments are currently processed by Razorpay or another payment provider shown in the App. For more information, review the payment provider’s own terms and privacy policy before completing payment.


13. App Stores

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store or Google Play, your use of the App may also be subject to the applicable app store’s terms.

For Apple App Store users:

  • These Terms are between you and Knoqq, not Apple.
  • Apple is not responsible for the Services, professional services, support, maintenance, claims, or disputes relating to Knoqq.
  • Apple and its affiliates are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce it against you where applicable.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable app store rules or consumer protection laws.


14. Intellectual Property

The App, website, software, designs, text, logos, brand names, graphics, workflows, pricing displays, content, and platform technology are owned by Knoqq or licensed to Knoqq.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Knoqq grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for their intended customer purpose.

You must not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, create derivative works from, or misuse any part of the Services except as permitted by law or with our written permission.

If you send us ideas, suggestions, bug reports, or feedback, we may use them without restriction or payment to you.


15. Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law.

We do not guarantee that:

  • The App will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available.
  • A professional will be available for every location, date, time slot, or duration.
  • Every requested task will be completed within the booked duration.
  • Location, availability, pricing, arrival, or completion estimates will always be exact.
  • The Services will meet every expectation or produce a particular result.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.


16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Knoqq will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, exemplary, or consequential losses, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, loss of opportunity, or losses caused by third-party services, professional conduct, off-platform arrangements, incorrect information provided by you, or events outside our reasonable control.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Knoqq’s aggregate liability for a claim relating to a booking will be limited to the amount you paid for the affected booking.

This section does not limit rights or remedies that cannot be limited under applicable consumer protection or other laws.


17. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Knoqq, its personnel, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, penalties, costs, and expenses arising from:

  • Your breach of these Terms.
  • Your misuse of the Services.
  • False, incomplete, or misleading information provided by you.
  • Your violation of law or another person’s rights.
  • Your conduct at the service location.
  • Off-platform arrangements or payments made by you.
  • User Content submitted by you.

18. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time. You may request account deletion through the Account Deletion page or by contacting us.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Services if:

  • You breach these Terms or platform policies.
  • We detect suspected fraud, payment abuse, coupon abuse, safety risk, harassment, illegal activity, or platform misuse.
  • Required by law, court order, government request, payment-provider rule, or operational necessity.
  • Continuing to provide Services would create unreasonable legal, safety, security, or business risk.

Termination does not affect obligations that arose before termination, including unpaid amounts, chargebacks, dispute cooperation, legal compliance, or provisions intended to survive termination.


19. Privacy

Our collection, use, sharing, retention, and deletion of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy.


20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will show a new “Last Updated” date. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the App, website, email, push notification, or another appropriate channel.

Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the Services.


21. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India.

If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. Subject to applicable law, courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka will have jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms or the Services.
