5. Data Sharing and Service Providers
We share personal data only where needed to provide the Services, operate the App, comply with law, protect users, or process your requests.
(a) Assigned Service Professionals
When a booking is assigned, we may share your name or receiver name, phone number, service address, booking time, duration, selected task information, and special instructions with the assigned professional so they can complete the booking.
(b) Payment Providers
We use Razorpay for payment processing, payment verification, payment status checks, failed-payment handling, refunds, chargeback support, and payment reconciliation. Razorpay may receive payment amount, Razorpay order ID, payment ID, booking reference, transaction identifiers, selected payment method, and information you enter in Razorpay-controlled payment flows. Knoqq does not receive or store your card CVV, UPI PIN, or full payment credentials.
(c) Maps, Location, and Address Providers
We use map and location providers to display maps, detect your current location, autocomplete addresses, and reverse-geocode coordinates into readable addresses.
- Ola Maps may be used through Knoqq backend proxy APIs for address autocomplete, place lookup, geocoding, and reverse geocoding.
- Device operating-system location services may be used on Android and iOS to request your current GPS coordinates after you grant location permission.
These providers may process location coordinates, map interactions, place search text, and device/app technical information as needed to deliver map and location features.
(d) Push Notifications and Customer Messaging
We use Firebase Cloud Messaging, Apple Push Notification service, and customer messaging tools to send transactional and service-related notifications, including OTP/login messages where applicable, booking updates, professional assignment updates, payment and refund updates, offers, support updates, safety alerts, account notices, and policy updates.
To deliver these messages, we may process push tokens, device identifiers, platform type, app version, notification permission status, message content, delivery metadata, and deep-link data that opens the relevant App screen when you tap a notification. You can turn off push notifications in your device settings, but important service messages may still be sent through SMS, phone, email, WhatsApp, or in-app channels where permitted by law.
(e) Analytics and Crash Reporting
We use analytics and diagnostics tools to understand app usage and fix reliability issues.
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Amplitude | Product analytics, app usage events, feature funnels, and customer experience measurement |
| Google Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reports, non-fatal error reports, stack traces, and diagnostics |
| Google Firebase Analytics | App analytics, install/session measurement, notification interaction measurement, and usage diagnostics where enabled in the build |
| MoEngage | Customer notifications, in-app messaging, and engagement measurement where enabled |
Analytics and diagnostics data may be linked to your app account ID or analytics identifier so we can understand customer journeys, debug issues, and improve the Services. We do not use these tools to sell your data or target ads across other companies’ apps or websites.
(f) Backend, Authentication, OTP, and Infrastructure Providers
We use backend, authentication, database, hosting, SMS/OTP, monitoring, and cloud infrastructure providers to operate the Services securely. These providers process data only as needed to provide services to Knoqq.
(g) Legal, Safety, and Business Requirements
We may disclose data if required by law, court order, government authority, fraud investigation, security incident response, user-safety need, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Knoqq, users, professionals, or the public.
If Knoqq is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
6. Location Data
The customer App uses location data to help you set a service address, show maps, find available slots near you, calculate service coverage, and improve location-based booking flows.
We request location permission from the operating system before using your device location. The customer App is intended to use location while you are using location-based features. We do not use the customer App to continuously track your location after you stop using the App, and we do not use customer location for third-party advertising.
You can revoke location permission at any time from your device settings. If you revoke permission, you may still be able to enter or search an address manually, but some map, current-location, and availability features may not work properly.
7. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, safety, dispute-resolution, or regulatory reasons.
General retention approach:
- Account and profile data: kept while your account is active, then deleted or anonymized after account deletion unless retention is legally required
- Saved addresses and emergency contacts: kept while your account is active, then deleted or anonymized after account deletion
- Booking, payment, wallet, refund, and invoice records: retained as needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, chargebacks, dispute handling, and legal compliance
- Push notification tokens and device records: kept while your account is active or while needed to deliver notifications, then deleted, replaced, or made inactive when you sign out, disable notifications, rotate devices, or delete your account, subject to operational logs and legal requirements
- Support and complaint records: retained as needed to resolve your issue, maintain service quality, and comply with law
- Crash, diagnostics, and analytics records: retained according to our internal retention settings and the applicable provider’s retention policies
To request account deletion, use the Account Deletion page linked from our website or email founder@knoqq.com. We may verify your registered phone number by OTP before processing the request.
If your account has an active booking, unresolved payment, refund, dispute, or other legal/operational obligation, deletion may be delayed until that obligation is resolved. When deletion is completed, login access is removed and personal profile/address data is deleted or anonymized. Historical operational and financial records may be retained in anonymized or legally required form.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal data, including HTTPS for network communication, authenticated API access, restricted access to production systems, and secure handling of payment flows through payment providers.
The App stores certain data locally on your device, such as login tokens and cached app data. You are responsible for keeping your device secure and should never share your OTP with anyone.
No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Knoqq customer App is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact founder@knoqq.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. Your Choices and Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your account and personal data
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Revoke device permissions, such as location or notification permission, through your device settings
- Raise a privacy complaint or grievance
To exercise these rights, email founder@knoqq.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
11. App Store Privacy Information
The App Store may show a summary of the App’s privacy practices. That summary is based on Apple’s categories and may not include every detail in this Policy.
Based on current customer App functionality, categories that may apply include contact information, location, user identifiers, purchase/payment history, push notification tokens, product interaction, diagnostics, customer support data, and other user-provided content such as booking instructions.
If App functionality or integrated SDKs change, we will update our App Store privacy information and this Policy as needed.
12. Payments
Payments are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited or the payment provider shown in the App. Razorpay is responsible for payment information entered in Razorpay-controlled payment flows. Knoqq receives and stores only the payment records needed to create orders, verify payment callbacks, process refunds, reconcile webhook updates, handle failed or cancelled payments, support chargebacks, and comply with tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal obligations. For more information, see Razorpay’s Privacy Policy.
13. Grievance Officer
For privacy complaints or concerns, contact our Grievance Officer:
Name: Harshit Singhal
Email: founder@knoqq.com
We will acknowledge grievances within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 30 days, subject to applicable law and the complexity of the request.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App, website, or another appropriate channel. The updated Policy will show the latest “Last Updated” date.
15. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, disputes shall be subject to the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
